Eva
"Honestly, it's kind of painful watching you two sometimes. Makes me want to yell out the obvious, but I'm holding back because I'm such a good friend. If you really like Valeri, you should say it out loud, Nora. There's nothing gained from holding back."
Eva is very easygoing and a joy to be around, but she's not as simple as many may take her for. Beneath the frivolous facade is the face of a woman who would do just about anything for the people she cares about.
At a young age, she was brought to the Meranian castle at the behest of her parents, as a part of the cultural exchange between the two kingdoms - as there is a royal marriage on the horizon, and they want to have the Meranian princess have a lady in waiting from Cicily. She's not too excited at first, but that all changes when they meet.
They got along well as kids, and Eva soon got used to the life there. Many things happened... and then Valeri showed up. She's very intrigued about where this is going, and wants her hands all over it.
Eva is almost always cheerful and ready to go at it. She's ready to go along with some pretty insane things just to get shit done, and it's rare you see her ever be calm or normal in any way. It's qualities like this that both Eleanora and Valeri love in her, as it is qualities they lack - at least for the time being.
She's a little bit of a tease, and it can be hard to see where her line goes between platonic and romantic - this goes for her relationship with either of the two women, which surprisingly doesn't pull them apart, but rather push them further towards each other. She has that quality of the social glue, but Eva often forgets to think about... what exactly it is that she wants for her future.
( princess, bestie, more? )
Eva has known Eleanora since they were both children, and they've gotten along like peas in a pod. To the outside world, perhaps a bit TOO well. The nature of their relationship is a little unclear, but they've never pursued anything more than friends, and this is comfortable... or so Eva likes to tell herself. Things aren't in a place where either of them know what to do with the things left unsaid.
Despite her own feelings, she's completely supportive of Eleanora and Valeri's interactions - perhaps because of her own lingering feelings, or perhaps because she, too, harbors a level of interest in the seemingly elegant, yet delightfully awkward youngster.
( comrade, friend, more? )
Eva was there when Eleanora and Valeri first "met" outside the castle walls, and has known about the two of them and Eleanora's feelings for a while.
Frankly, she's just as interested in the mysterious jester as her best friend is, and she can't help but want to get closer - when she realizes that Valeri is from Cicily like her, this feeling only strengthens, and despite everything, the two of them become surprisingly close over their time together at the castle, perhaps to a point where Eva stands to realize some things about herself.
