After half a year, getting back to working out like it's nothing is difficult for Peri, and for a change of pace, they decide to try out a well-regarded fitness center in town.
They end up getting a lot more than they bargained for when they meet Zaida, a very attractive regular at fitness, and the two become "gym buddies". In reality, Peri has a huge crush on them.
The two of them fall into a romantic dynamic almost immediately, clearly enjoying each other's company as they start meeting up regularly outside of gym days.

Peri is the type of person that is very easy to read - they don't make much of a show of hiding anything, not that they'd be able to in the first place. This can both be a good and a bad thing, but it's a positive trait.
They tend to be observant to the point of overthinking, and this can definitely cause some problems where they think themselves into a corner and become unable to act. Pair this with their penchant for getting rattled easy, and you have a recipe for them getting panicked and doing and saying stupid things sometimes. They often need a grounding force to bring them back to reality in such cases.

Zaida is a model in their early 30s, but Peri has absolutely no idea about this at first. Instead, they meet at the fitness center that Zaida frequents and become gym buddies.
There's immediate chemistry between them but Peri is too chickenshit to take the flirting offered up to them on a silver platter (at least at first) due to disbelief of a 10/10 hottie liking them. What they don't know is that Zaida is absolutely obsessed with them too.

Canna is Peri's roommate and old college friend - the two of them were on the same sports team and got along very well back then. They've been living together for some years, agreeing to vibe until it was time for either of them to move out. She works a regular 9-5, leaving Peri alone in the home for the most part except at night.
They share a lot of hobbies and often cook together when they have the chance, trying out new dishes together. They both treasure each other a lot and want the other to be happy.
- Peri works at an office, but generally speaking their company dresscode is very lax; tending towards business casual, Peri favors blouses and high-waisted pants, either jeans or pressed pants depending on the occasion. Often there'll be a little hint to periwinkles - the flower their name comes from - somewhere on the outfit, in the main design it's shown in the color scheme and especially the little flower button on their pants. They usually wear little booties and not so much sneakers, with short, thick block heels.
- Peri usually wears their hair up, as it's a complete mess when it's down, something that they are somewhat self-conscious about. Still, they think short hair looks even worse, and for that reason keeps their hair long for now. It's a bit of a warzone every morning when they have to brush it and make it somewhat presentable, but they welcome the struggle since short hair would just make it worse.
- Peri wears prescription glasses, and they're unable to wear contacts, making them have to wear them even while working out, which can become a bit of a hassle.
- For workouts they usually wear a combination of biker shorts and a loose t-shirt, as well as a tanktop binder underneath - this has been long known to dig into their shoulders, leaving behind red marks, but they're not very well-versed in the ways of chest binding and absolutely do not feel comfortable in a simple sports bra. For footwear they wear their trusty bright blue sneakers, a statement piece of the outfit - they're well-loved but also perfectly maintained, showing how much they love them.
