Rui is used to being stared at. With her unique eye and hair color, people tend to stare at her as a curiosity rather than think about her as a person. When she entered high school, her parents enrolled her in a private academy affiliated with a university, which she has now entered.
Several in her class are acquaintances, but there are also many new faces - including a girl with a remarkably similar appearance to her; and to top off, she's also really cute.
Rui wants to get closer to her, but after introducing herself on the first day, she feels the girl resisting her attempts at friendship. Still, she can't give up.
- Despite her cool exterior, she's actually a remarkably lame person.
- She doesn't necessarily mind the attention she gets; but it makes her feel more like an exhibit than a human.
- She is remarkably, hopelessly, stupidly gay.
Despite what you may think is a harsh upbringing, filled with hospital visits and having to stay inside during sports, Rui has always been a social butterfly - though to those who know her closely, it is clearly a coping mechanism. Those people are few and far between though, consisting only of family members at the moment.
She is always eager to take the initiative, and struggles when she is rejected; Liya not responding to her not only makes her curious but also stubborn, which could definitely be seen as a problem.
She can be a bit of a tease, and a daredevil. Sometimes to her own detriment. Though she is careful not to take health risks.

A cute girl that enrolled into the university in the same class as Rui. She was not part of the high school branch, and such, a new interesting face. Rui notices that she has some similar physical features, and can't help but wonder - but at first, Liya won't talk to her.
In Rui's mind, this just makes the girl an even more interesting person, and she can't help but want to get to know her - slowly developing a little crush on her. She's so pretty, after all.
- Rui has a striking, noticeable appearance; particularly, her platinum blonde hair and purple eyes. Green rims circle her iris, something caused by her peculiar medical genetic condition. She has gotten used to the fact that her eyes are very sensitive, and she is generally very weak to sunlight in any form. She has often been very well-noticed for her hair and eyes but she has considered many times to cover it up with hair dye and contacts - if it wasn't so expensive. Eventually, she just came to accept that she'd be gawked at, even if she hates it. She likes when people don't treat her like that.
- She wears rather boyish, sporty clothes. She has a holographic, cropped hoodie on with dark purple lining, a green crop top with a zipper, a pair of purple-and-greenish jogging pants, a green and purple belt strap that goes down her leg and around her left pant leg, and a pair of chunky, cool sneakers. The iridescent hoodie is part of her theming with Liya, a deliberate visual parallel. It's the first time I've created characters like this.
- Rui is very deliberate in dressing boyish and sporty, despite not doing any sports. She's rather scrawny and so she finds anything feminine to look too weird on her - it just doesn't match her personality. She doesn't shy away from showing off her belly, but she's not much a fan of showing off her legs - which is a weird kind of hangup for her. She doesn't mind cold very much, and goes light even in the winter, much to the chagrin of her parents.
