As the woman who would be prince, one may wonder what possessed Emerald, the sole heir to her kingdom's throne, to make such a drastic choice?
Her smaller kingdom has been in conflict with a neighboring, larger power trying to usurp them, but they aren't the only ones in such a situation; their other neighbor, a much smaller kingdom, stands to get the same fate, at any time now. The kingdom's princess is Emerald's only friend, but what can she do?
Emerald sees no other option; she must ally their powers, and what an easier way to do it than by marriage? She informs her parents of the plan, and "Prince" Emerald debuts to the world to announce his marriage to the neighboring princess.
It's a temporary measure, and the conflict spikes back up, so she is assigned a pair of knights as retainers; and oh, how beautiful those women are.

Beneath harsh words and icy glares is the truly caring heart that Emerald possesses. She is not good at expressing her own emotions most of the time, losing patience and saying things she doesn't mean.
This prickly attitude subsides somewhat when she gets close to the party in question, but that rarely happens; and that's just as she wants it. It may not be on purpose, but her personality bristling with others means that not many dare try to get close. This is a silver lining when she wants to hide her identity. Though, there are two knights who didn't seem to get the memo...

Nadine is one of the beautiful lady knights that have been assigned to "prince" Emerald's side. She is a romantic, clearly entrancing the gazes of women and men alike, though her fans are decidedly most likely to be women.
Emerald finds her beautiful, and despite her constant teasing, it is clear that Nadine has an attentive eye to others' needs. Almost to a scary degree.
Somehow, she senses that Nadine is constantly looking at her. With the kind of gaze that makes her neck sweat.

Charlotte is the other beautiful lady knight that has been assigned to protect Emerald. Her unwavering gaze is impossible to read, but she is a very serious, well-spoken woman who only says what she finds necessary.
Emerald is entranced by her; her beauty, her long, silky hair that's always pulled back, her icy, intense stare.
Those eyes seem to bore through her, and she wonders distantly if the two women knights have something in store for her...
- Emerald has a fairly scrawny and slender build, which has made it fairly easy for her to reliably pass as a man; her hair was never that long, but she deliberately cut it to seem a little more boyish. Her elegant, yet boyish features have gained a bit of a reputation around the castle as a "pretty boy", but she doesn't give much care to it; she spends most of her time by herself anyway. People can talk all the gossip they want about her, it's none of her business.
- Owing to her name, she is wearing majority green most of the time, in matching with her bright, green eyes. The little squiggly symbol she wears on her neck and waist is the royal insignia, which her knights also wear. The cravat around her neck is customary for princes, but it also helps to draw attention away from her chest. She also wears a cape that's short on one side and long on the other; her knights wear something similar.
- She wears a pair of soled boots to make herself look a little taller, but it's hopeless next to the mountains that are Charlotte and Nadine. She dwarfs in their presence, and this isn't helped by the fact that they are always standing on either side of her, reminding her of the difference. Nothing she can do will make her look tall next to THEM.
- Her deep red hair is another feature that many people point out when they talk about her; it stands out well with her green clothing, and her hair is beautiful and soft like that of her mother. Overall, she gets compared to her a lot, even when pretending to be the "prince". Her green eyes are from her father's side, and a fixture many will constantly mention when talking about her. She doesn't much enjoy being praised either way, so she tries to stay by herself most of the time, though it's impossible to avoid people forever.
